Rebate Check with misspelt last name

I just received a rebate check with a misspelt last name. It has one extra character.

Can I still deposite it? Will it bounce?
Or do I have to call the rebate company to resend the check with a correctly spelt last name?

Anyone have similar experience?

Sign it like normal with your account number on back and deposit it into the ATM.

That's what most people would recommend, if it's only 1 character off I think you should be ok.

Account number?
If I deposite it into my saving account, I just wrote the saving account number on the back (and sign the check of course.)
Correct?

Correct. Make sure to put the check with deposit slip inside of an envelope inside of the ATM.

Thanks. I will do that.

Happens all the time, as long as its not totally different it should be fine. I've had ones where 4 or 5 letters were different or misplaced and my name isn't that long to begin with.

I hate those dumb@sses.. they managed to spell my last name (some people have trouble with it) correctly, but managed to screw up my first name. How difficult is it to spell "Kevin".
