Reasons for indoor hammering?

My next door neighbors are hammering and have been all morning. It woke me up. The problem is, it's pretty impossible for me to just "ask" them because in order to talk to them I would have to have access to their side of the building, which I don't, and I wouldn't even know who to talk to.

What are reasons for indoor hammering? I can understand perhaps putting a dresser together or putting a picture on the wall, but what would cause 2 hours+ of unending hammering?

crushing metal ores?
I used to hear hammering all hours of the day and night coming from a neighbors, finally I went and asked what was up with that. He told me he found some gold ore in thedesert and was crushing a ton by hand to have it smelted into a gold bar. He eventually did get a ton crushed and had it smelted, it turned out that it cost him 10 dollars more to have the crushed stuff shipped to be smelted than the value of the gold he got.

You posted at 11:34am. 2+ hours takes it back to about 9am.

Why would you need to talk to your neighbors about this? 9am seems more than reasonable for a start time on a project during the weekend.

I'm inclined to agree. If it was 6, 7 or even 8am, I would consider that too early. But 9:30-10... ehh not too bad.
