I agreed to purchase a laptop on 10/30/05

Seller received cashier's check on 11/05

Seller got it verified by bank on 11/08

Says it will ship out by 11/10

Next I hear is on 11/13 saying there was a family emergency and he was out of town but left it at his office to ship and he'll find out on 11/14 and let me know what's up that day.

That's all I've heard since then (it's 11/20) now and I have no package nor money.

Trader has great heatware and ebay feedback. Am I being an ass here expecting either a) money b) laptop or at least c) communication? I get a family emergency but I'm starting to wonder if my money's gone...

Shouldnt you use paypal or some other secure method for online purchases?

It doesn't appear that that's the case. There's a lot of correlation between the poster, heatware, and ebay. Perhaps I do deserve to learn my lesson about online purchases, but damnit I was hoping people didn't suck :|

When going by ebay feedback you should have them send you a message from their ebay account verifying its really their feedback. Good luck and I hope it works out.

I only deal with Paypal and the such, too easy for people to scam you with a CC or MO. If they're dealing online, they should take Paypal.

I think if I were trying to rip someone off, I would do it by pretending to sell a laptop.
