Reason why you got a part time job in hs/college?

I worked for money in HS, to buy stuff for myself and my car.

I worked for money in college for CD's and beer.

I worked in high school and university to learn life lessons. The money was nice too.

Always seemed like I have had some type of job.

First job was a paper boy in summer before 6th grade.
Started because I thought it would be fun.

Then just progressed into better paying jobs.

The money never hurt though.

Earning money was a nice benefit of having something to do.

I had to work if i wanted to drive. It was called being responsible.. or atleast thats what my parents told me.

I don't know which option to check... I wasnt forced. It was just if i want to drive then this is what i have to do. If i didnt want to drive then i didnt have to work.

I once worked at a grocery store for a few months in high school just because a girl I was interested in was working there. It was worth it. I ended up marrying her several years later.

Mostly money though for my other part-time jobs when I was younger though. I had (and still have actually) a self-employed gig on the side surveying and lining soccer fields that I've been doing since I was 14. I made tons of money doing that growing up (avg'd about $50-$60/hr for about 3-4 hours of work a week) so I didn't have to work as many traditional part-time jobs as a result.

In college, it was all about experience. I still did the soccer thing for money and did summer student/intern work at big corporations for professional experience (and also for money.)

Money for my first job, money and experience for my second (and summer) job and bored and money for the one I'm at right now. More for the bored factor because the pay is barely worth my time.

only in the summer because it took too much time to drive 30 minutes each way to have a 2 hour practice and do homework... but i have a job in college for extra beer money
