OK, so I drove home on Sunday morning (5am) from my girlfriend's house on the freeway. Here in Switzerland, the maxium speed on the freeway is 75mph, and I drove with about 110mph. I just drove so fast cuz there was no car behind nor in front of me, so I thought I would test the car of my parents:). Nothing happend actually, and I have to say I only drive faster, when I really don't endanger any other person than me. I would never drive faster in-town or so... just on the freeway. Anyway, on Monday morning, I read the newspaper, and guess what? They catched 2 "speeder", on the exact same high-way that I drove, on Sunday morning. One with 145mph and one with 95mph. I was so shocked, cuz actually, the cops could have catched me! I was so lucky, and I don't think I should push my luck too far.

And the reason why I won't smoke anymore is cuz currently, my uncle is suffering from pulmonary-cancer and will die pretty sure. His brother and his father(my uncle and my grand-father) died cuz of pulmonary-cancer. So I think that's a sign for me to stop smoking. I only smoked sometimes on the weekend, but again, I don't want to push my luck again too far. Btw, I'm 19.

I just had to write this down, and sorry for my bad english, it's not my native-speaking language ;)

<< good for you brother ... you may live longer now :D >>

That's what I'm actually hoping for ;) But it's also, that when I see (or hear what my mother tells me about him, cuz she visited him today in hospital) how he's suffering....... that's not the way I wanna die actually...

Speeding is essential to life. Smoking will kill you.

You are far more coherent than your countryman Simon Ammann. It's amusing to hear a Harry Potter lookalike spew fragments of English in a hyperactive manner.

when i read the thread title i was thinking something like an article you found about a person like burning themselves with a cigarette/cigar in the groin area or something because they were driving and smoking and not paying attention

oh... and my mom is 5 months smoke free.. proud of her and you ;)

it's a bad habit

"So I think that's a sign for me to stop smoking..."

My sister-in-law lost her own brother to smoking at 40 years of age. She helped sneak him smokes in the hospital! Her mom smokes too. Neither could bring themselves to quit, even after his death. Cigarettes must really be addictive to have that kind of hold on you. Glad to hear of your decision.

And damn it, I'm going to slow down too! I've been doing pretty good about that, but I'm going to cut back even more. I can't afford a ticket and my life insurance won't leave my family much if it comes to that... gotta SLOW DOWN!

Good Luck & God Bless You And Your Family

Well, I'm not a chain-smoker. I maybe smoke a pack of cigarettes on 1 weekend, and I don't smoke during the week, so it's not so hard for me I guess.

Thanks for the kind words.
