Reason to Upgrade Catalyst?

Hey all.
I'm wondering if there is any point to upgrading my graphics drivers frequently?

Right now I'm on a Sapphire 7950 on Catalyst 13.12 and have been for a while.
I even use AMD Overdrive to overclock. (950/1325) All my games are happy and stable. Only using one 1980x1080 monitor.

I know 13.12 is a little old now, but like I said, having zero issues with it. I don't really play any of the games that the current version claims to have performance boosts for. So should I continue being satisfied with 13.12 or am I missing a reason to update?

You don't need to get every new beta driver that comes out, but is good to update your driver to the latest at least one time per year.

Depends on the games you play, setup you have. At single monitor, 1080p, only play older games, you're probably fine. Remember, just because a game isn't listed as having a performance increase, doesn't mean it won't see increased performance from new drivers. Basically, if you're happy with how things are running, don't fix what's not broken. As el_etro said, though, updating once in a while is probably a good idea. Once every year or two is what I do on my computers that are not my main gaming machine.

Cool thanks, I'll wait a few more months. My main games are a few MMOs, Far Cry 3, Diablo 3, Skyrim and the Arkham city games. So none of them are super new by any means.

I don't update mine unless something really new comes out and I'm having trouble. Of course, I'm on a card that's over four years old, and driver issues are becoming the least of my concerns.

Thought you had a R9 290, that ain't 4 years old :\

Ha, I wish. HD 5870 🙁

Thing's got surprisingly good chops though, it managed 1920x1080 Crysis 2 at decent settings while running a secondary monitor. Would love to see something like it show up again, the performance increase over prior gen cards at an excellent price point has been largely unmatched since then.

The most recent drivers apparently added multi-resolution support for eyefinity. So if you are running a secondary monitor, the new drivers might help there?
