As if half the other Muslim dictatorships won't be saying the same thing.

yeah we're pissed off and angry, but we still need to separate what happened today from what may happen tomorrow with Iraq. We still need some evidence of guilt b4 we attack them. Lots of people, both Muslim and non Muslim the world over are probably a little happy that our great country has suffered another setback, again. It stems from jealousy and hatred, but these are not grounds for killing someone.

that's such a stupid argument. what about when we sent troops to somalia and yugoslavia. the people were being oppressed. no one in their right minds now can say saddam believes in human rights. we have as much just cause then as we do now to go in and do our job

I question who has the stupid argument in this. "No one in their right minds can say saddam believes in human rights." No sh*t sherlock. Where did you read that from in my post? And you're absolutely right when you say "we have as much just cause then as we do now to go in and do our job" this incident changes nothing. No matter how much the Iraqi's laugh and cheer that does not affect our justification in invading them. I know some Yugo's, Chinese, North Koreans, Vietnamese, French, and Pakistanis that are cheering now as well. If we find out they have WMD and there is a link bw al qaeda and them, then yes, lets attack.

its not just sadaam. He has set up a goverment where if he is taken out, it can still run. He has various levels of hierarchy setup in just that way. The current system gives lots of benefits and is corrupt in favor of its officials. taking him out will not stop them, although it would probably put a major dent in it.

I love how they get quotes from "everday guys on the street" in Iraq. It isn't like they would say anything that might be construed as favorable to the US or anti-Iraq. For one, all reporters in Iraq have escorts. For another, if an Iraqi did say something contrarian, they would be arrested and tortured and killed along with their family.

This is why there needs to be complete regime change.

I'm sure they took a statistically accurate cross-section of the population when they asked that. I'm also sure that every response they had was a 'they got what they deserved' one. hey if our govt. reveals to the world what they say they have as far as evidence is concerned, lets war. what happened today was terrible, but i'm not prepared to go 'kick some but' NOW, as opposed to not before BECAUSE of what some stupid Iraqi's said. Heck we better be prepared to attack a lot of countries if thats the case.

i don't understand why people give that government so much credit. it basically fell apart in the first gulf war with not much effort on our part

also to SherEPunjab - what evidence is necessary, the man bombed his own people with chemical weapons...we know enough from the first war about him and his regime, and we also know that nothing has changed since then. so what is your point. there is no evidence short of saddam admitting flat out that he is creating wmds, yet we all know that iraq has them. so stop with you idealistic overtones and get with the picture
