I can't get the two rear speakers to work. They're plugged in right on my NF7-S. Is this a driver issue or is there any utility I can use to correct this?

Yes. I can tell you how to correct this since you've provided all pertinent information such as: NOTHING!
Why don't you tell us what you have for sound, guy.

They're plugged into my mobo(NF7-S rev.2), so that is what I have for sound. Sorry, thought I was clear about that. And I'm running XP.

HAHAHAHA! I'm such a dick tonight. You did say that I just missed it.
Sorry.
Uh, anyway, have you checked out the control panel? Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the Nforce audio so I can't really help you there. But, there should be somewhere you can set two speakers, four speakers, etc. Have you done this yet?

You could also try switching the front and rear jacks around (going into the PC) to test the back speakers out, make sure they work.

IF you have everything plugged in right search for nvswap on the nvidia website.

The rear speakers work, messed around a bit and could hear muffled center speaker through them, I just cant get the rear speaker audio to go through them. Control panel doesn't help - have 6 speaker system enabled, but the rear channel audio is coming through the front speakers.

K I will do it for you NVSwap Play with this it will fix the routing of the sound.

Well, just to go through the color coding - the coding with the NF7-S is screwed up. At least on my board (rev1.2 I believe) it is.
For the motherboard:
Green - front
Black - Center/Subwoofer
Orange - rear.

So the green matches the Z-640's, but the orange and black are reversed.
Oh yeah, the Matrix button on the Z-640's, make sure it's turned off.

Also, what app are you not getting rear sound from? Winamp by chance? If Winamp, set the Output plugin to Directsound, Configure it, and enable hardware acceleration.

Then, you should have the nForce control panel enabled; maybe you have an icon for it in the system tray. If not, it's in the system32 folder of your Windows folder, called sndstorm.exe.
Go to the Speaker Setup tab, set to 6 speakers; check Create Center and LFE channels.
Click the Test Tone button there and see what happens.
