I Googled this and people are discussing it but got nothing solid from it. Basically I'm in the process of getting a new car, it doesn't come with a touch screen head unit that works with a back up camera. I'd like one, but I don't want to spend a ton on an Alpine or some sort of expensive head unit. I was thinking a Bluetooth or Wifi camera, but I'm pondering if there's a way to make the phone know the car's in reverse? I have limited knowledge of ODB2, but I know Android has an app for it that can do a lot of things with an ODB2 Bluetooth sensor you plug in your car.

Would that do absolutely anything at all? I'm thinking it's probably a no go, but perhaps I'm wrong here.

I want you to sit down and really think about how much you are about to pay vs how much you will actually use this feature.

If you do end up going for it I would recommend aftermarket headunit + camera over just about ANY "stock" head unit that comes with a car.

Heck, first thing I do when I get ANY car is remove the radio/speakers etc.....
