Reapplying AS3.

Quick question. This weekend I should be getting a new hsf to replace the stock Intel one on my P4 setup. I know that everytime you remove a heatsink you should reapply the thermal compound. However, does this apply to when you plan on replacing the thermal compound with the same stuff? That is, when I take my heatsink off there will still be AS3 on the CPU heat spreader. Should I remove that AS3 and replace it with more AS3, or since it's the same stuff can I leave it on? No big deal if I have to completely remove it, but it would save some time if I didn't have to.

i would redo it just because it doesnt take that long and its better safe than to have to reaffix a hsf =P
