I'm looking through job sites and I see an ad for a job I applied for about 6 months ago. I got an interview but didn't get the position. Should I reapply for it or since I didn't get it the 1st time around, don't bother?

Absolutely. The companies and positions I really want get a resume per week from me.

It worked for me once after applying every week for six months, I got the job I was after when one opened up.

Maybe they will admire your persistence. Can't hurt to try unless there are significant travel expenses involved.

Because I made 1 misspelling on an internet forum 6 months after I had the interview?

Apparently I can't edit the title because of the time warp.

Lack of attention to detail. Hastily completing work without reviewing it. Submitting written documents without spell checking.

my GF is still looking, and she keeps seeing the same positions posted again and again. I few that she actually interviewed for months ago. I tell her to just keep re-applying. though it hasn't gotten anywhere yet :(

I think that the reapplying idea can be taken too far. I don't think I would hire someone who sent a resume a week for six months. There is determination, and there is obsession.

I've done it. Shows you have interest in the position, though don't overdo it. I even applied for an internal job knowing I was too new to the company to get it. There was the slight chance that I was the only applicant and could have a chance, but it was primary to show my interest. The 3rd try (the job opened a few times for new people) HR called me and told me I was 3rd on the list (they were hiring 2) so that I will probably have better luck next time. I thanked them for their time and moved on, was not disappointed or anything given I was new (well at this point it had been a bit over 1 year).

Then months after that one of the applicants who was now working that job wanted to transfer back as he did not really like it, so we did a swap, and well, here I am. The job is more stressful and same pay, but I still prefer server tech over L1/L2 tech. There are way more computers then servers, and there are way more ways a computer can be screwed up, then a server, so while server has bigger responsibility, there is less to deal with. Just, what we deal with is much bigger and more impacting.
