Realtek LAN not working

I have a MSI KN8GM2-FID motherboard, and the onboard LAN (WITESSE VSC8201RX/Realtek 8201 CL) refuses to work. I have tried everything, and it continues to tell me that there is a cable disconnected. Putting in a pci NIC, I have no problems connecting to the internet. Any suggestions?

Assuming that you enable the LAN in the BIOS, installed the Drivers, and checked the device manger for Ghosts (http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost ), and every thing looks OK.

If the Motherboard is out of Warranty, or and you do not want to be bother with RMA.

Then feel sad for few seconds, after all you lost $5, and go on with life.

Does your motherboard have LAN MAC Refresh in BIOS?

Jack,

Well, point well taken. Was going to put a wireless network card in anyways, so I guess it is a moot point....
