Realtek lan drivers for motherboard Acer a45 fusion chipset

I am in a predicament here folks so PLEASE reply ASAP. I have this computer I am trying to help a friend out on, 2 tours and on drill now and I wanted to have this finished by tonight for him.

Its an Acer AX1430G-UW30P W7HP64A / AMDE450B/ 4G / 1TB / SDIN: 14000193430 that he bought and he invested in an OS disk to upgrade from Windows 7 home premium to Windows 7 Ultimate.

Unbeknownst to me, Acers tech support (Pakistani or India phone tech support) said that the driver downloads on their support page are specifically for Windows Home (I've personally never heard of this other than the difference between 32bit and 64bit drivers) , for after a successful install of Windows 7 Ultimate, the 64 bit drivers from Acer needed for the Realtek Lan networking controller don't work and continuously give me an error notice on end of install for the LAN.... that the Network controller cannot be found!

I can't get a specific Realtek identifier for the chipset from Acer and they know nothing at all about specific motherboard properties other than to tell me its an AMD a45 fusion motherboard.

Can anyone help me find the drivers for this specific board, or find the Realtek identifying chip ID for the lan network controller?

Give me them much appreciated links and details and tips PLEASE! I am in a bind and my rep is on line here as its Ma's grow'd up 33 year old "ensign" son I have to keep happy. It's my arse here at home folks! Lifesaver time!

As far as I know, Realtek's gigabit NIC drivers are bundled by bus type: PCI/PCIe. Did you try installing both types?

Do I need to look for realtek drivers by a specific PCi bus or PCIe bus?

where can I find the drivers for this ?

how do I find out which bus it is?

the lan realtek ethernet chip in integrated, the onboard ethernet network controller is.

I tried both controller install packages for PCI and PCIe and still the same results. Thanks so much for the links anyways and the time and help. I am totally at a loss...the error message at the end of the install on both packages (they seem to be the same install pkg) reads:

"The Network Controller cannot be found, if in sleep mode please plug in the cable..."

now what the heck does that mean and why won't this install?

I have installed the Acer sites driver for the AMD a45 chip-set they have listed there in the download page for that exact computer...maybe, does the chip-set affect the network controller as some system bus installation pkgs usually include the network drivers for on-board network controllers???? Nvidia does anyways to my recollection but this is ATi AMD I believe.

Here's the pkg name from for the chipset's downloads

would the package include the drivers (those two packages) for "on-board integrated controllers" / never mind as I found the description to each pkg and it contains the integrated files too

do you have a tip on a good hardware diagnostic manager that can tell me the exact Realtek network device in my computer that I can install and check what hardware items are on this?

there is a strong chance you won't get it to work. sometimes a pc company makes it impossible to upgrade the os in your case windows 7 home to windows 7 ultimate. your only chance may be an acer windows 7 ultimate osx not a retail one. I have seen some dells so locked down to only dell windows osx. good luck

Open Device Manager -> double click on the unknown network controller device -> select the "Details" tab -> in the drop-down menu under Properties, select Hardware IDs -> post the ID string listed first. e.g. PCI\VEN_blahblah

My problem is, after a total install of Windows 7 ultimate...the network controller doesn't even show in the device manager at all. It is freaky and they are offering a windows 8 upgrade for this computer, but the idiot on tech support in Inia or whatever reading from a book of course, says that the A45 motherboard won't accept anything above Windows 7 home...

its crazy....

can I just not put a slim body network PCIe card on this and bypass that crap, or is the network controller chip onboard mandatory (I would think it being internal would be shut out after a slot PCIe card is installed)

Post a screen shot of Device Manager, particularly with the networking section expanded. Or run DXDIAG then 'save all information' to a TXT file and upload it.

I appreciate all the help, I'll post the details tomorrow as I have to call it a nite and missed getting it to them tonight obviously.

ok, I am going to say the obvious and I hope no one takes it the wrong way:

did you enable the lan in the BIOS?

That is probably why it is not showing up in device manager.

or maybe flash to the newest BIOS just in case of issues like this.

Hey everybody, thanks for the tips and time to help, hope you don't get teh wrong opinion here. I cheated and merely went to teh next city and bought a network card and installed it, and it cured all the troubles after configuring the appropriate setting the network connection.

All the help is greatly appreciated, and on that board, I don't believe it had a setting in bios for LAN settings.

No drivers were working, and I was a bit afraid to do a BIOS flash on this proprietary ACER board and crash it or something. I really really do hate these companies such as Dell and these folks, that build their systems with preventing users from upgrading or working on their own systems.

No driver for the onboard LAN would have ever worked until the system could have detected a network controller in the first place to load drivers for.

Thanks to everyone here for the help. You are none-the-less worth your weight in gold!

I would have done the same thing.

I have 2 older boards and their onboard nics don't work. So I know what its like.
