Hey guys i just bought a new comp with the mobo:

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L

I looked over all the reviews and what not before making my purchase, and it's a really good mobo from what i can tell so far. The only problem is it doesn't give me control to my microphone settings.

Its like it doesn't even recognize that it's there. It works fine, although everyone tells me that it's really quite, but without having control of the volume settings i'm unable to change it.

I installed the drivers from the CD and also from ones i found on google. If anyone knows of this problem or could help me that would be great. I'll continue my search while i wait for someone more knowledgeable than me.

In you use the Windows volume settings, you probably have to enable the mic volume control in properties.

Thank you for your suggestion, I have tried to enable the mic volume controls in the windows volume settings, albeit the only option there is: SPDIF OUT :(

I Found a thread here: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic38366-2.html

And the only solution they have is to enable the sound from my mic to be put out through the speakers.... which is retarded.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

are you sure you installed the soundcard drivers and utilities for the onboard sound either from the cd or downloaded from the site?

Yep :(

I first installed them from the CD and then updated them from the website. Still no luck with the google search :(

I actually don't have the front sound jacks hooked up to the mobo. I'm only using the rear.

I haven't checked that yet, would it make that big of a difference? I mean the microphone does work, i just don't have control of the volume of it. :(
