Recently I installed the Realtek HD Audio drivers for my EVGA 680i motherboard. Normally I have it disabled because I have an x-fi soundcard.. but I need to use the Realtek for the optical out so I can connect my computer to a receiver and some Polk Audio RTi6 speakers (I'm home from college for the summer so I don't have my Logitech Z-5500s). I would use the X-Fi's digital out, but I only have a 25 foot optical cable and no digital coax cable (I need to run the cable about 20 feet). Ever since I installed the Realtek audio drivers I get this EAccessViolation message whenever I try to access the Realtek audio control panel (which it will not open), or everytime my computer starts up.
Anyone know what the problem is? Or if there is a fix? Thanks for the help.
