I have a Gateway P-173x FX, and so does my colleague at work. He'd asked me to format it for him and reinstall all the drivers. However there was no driver CD that came with either of our laptops.
I downloaded all the drivers from Gateway's website but the one for the wireless card doesn't seem to work. I run the setup.exe and it installs 'something' but the wireless card remains without drivers. If I point windows directly at the .cat files the wrong driver shows up.
The card in the laptops is a RTL8187S and all I can find on Realtek's horribly slow website is the RTL8187SE. What I was wondering is: I've still got my machine set up the way it came from Gateway, and the drivers are installed. Is there any way I can transfer the already installed drivers from my machine to his?
We're both running Win Vista Ultimate x64.
Thanks for any help!
