I had to install it to see a movie I downloaded... there was so much crap I had to de-select when installing and it still seems bloated! This crappy program is coming off my machine right away!

i guess you haven't tried Media Player 7, engineered (pieced together) and brought to us by Microsoft.

The clip I saw wasn't even worth the download! I wonder if anyone actually does like it? I know most people run it out of necessity.

I don't know about your clip, but I downloaded real player 8 myself just to see a clip too a few weeks ago. It was a preview of the animated movie, street fighter zero, & even though it was not too long, it was worth it just to see the preview & the file size was only 577kb which took a couple of secs to download. It's been awhile since I've seen a good animation, ever since street fighter 2: the animated movie, all these other animated movies like tekken just can't compare.

Realplayer also is also spyware, it loves to use your net connection without your knowledge.. i hate sneaky dishonest software. Course i just run norton internet security to block it.. still, it shouldn't happen in the 1st place.

The problem with Realplayer is that it wants to download a lot of third-party apps that have payed Real for just this!!! Chose the "barebones", it's not too bad at 4.7 Mb.

Hey I was reading in the bath today about how a guy running two PCs on a network saw how auto update searches for Real audio 7.0 used up 40 hours in a month! 8 dials a day!
Apparently brodcast update is "spyware" giving remote access to functions on a user's pc potentially.

RealPlayer and WMP7 are bloated, but what I simply can't stand is how ICQ grows in every version. I'm using 2000b right now, and it's damn bloated. I wan't to remove 90% of those features, and customize is to my needs. There are things that I like, but there's definately things I don't need.

TV guides ?! Not where I live.
ICQMail ... hummm, prefer my own.
Interests ? THe same ol' thing everytime
Newsletters? ActiveLists? Integrated search bar ? ADs? ..... como on people !!!

These are the things that make this a hefty 6.5MB download (and memory hogger). And why does it keep wanting to set my home page to ICQ "Cool Links" ?!?! Even when I tell it "DO NOT CHANGE", it set's up ICQ Cool Links as my browsers home-page.

ARGHHH !!!

Yeah ICQ is getting bloated too! I gott 2000b, but I don't use any of it except file transfers and the good ol paging stuff.

Out of interest how many people have stuck with good old Media Player 6.4, rather than moving onto 7?
