okay i have a 200gb sata 1 HD in an abit av8 after a successful install of windows i wake up the next morning to see that the computer has rebooted and brought me to the sata raid rom bios screen and it says " scan devices please wait hardware initiate failed please check device! the bios doest not be installed press G to continue then it reboots and does the same thing over again. I can get into the bios but thats it. altering the bios settings does not help.
However resetting the cmos allows me to get past the scan devices screen and at the same time on that screen i can also see my SATA drive. after that screen i can boot from the cd. okay cool so i do windows starts up i press f6 to install my sata drivers then after i do that is says " please wait while windows sets up" and it just sits there for ever after about 30 minutes of waiting i reboot to find myself at the sata raid bios screen again unable to do anything and only be able to press G. So i have to shut down and reset the cmos again to boot from the cd. however after several attempts at this it keeps freezing up after the F6 installation of the raid driver. I am caught in two loops and do not know how to get out.
