**REALLY** weird problem?

I have an ABit KR7A mobo, XP1900+, 256MB PC2700RAM.

The computer starts up, fans all come on and everything, HDD light flashes, stops flashing etc, network card is fine.
CD/DVD drives look like they are detected (lights come on the go off after a bit, like normal).

Only one problem:
The monitor doesn't show anything at any stage of the possible boot (so I can't be sure it's booting up).

Monitor works fine (LCD with VGA input, tested as a second monitor on my 9800Pro and it works).
Graphics card is a Ti4400 which powers up (ie: the fans spins) but the monitor doesn't show anything.
A GF2 MX400 also has same problem (no monitor output) - no fan to check it gets powered up.

Everything else *seems" to do normal boot stuff, hdd comes on then goes off after a time etc.
Only problem I know of is no screen at all, not even a BIOS/POST type thing.

Since 2 graphics cards haven't worked, and the monitor is fine, and everything else appears fine, from what I can know, what could be the problem?

Would the computer even begin to boot if no AGP card was detected (don't have any PCI cards unfortunately 🙁), because it seems odd that it might, and the fan on the graphics card span up and was fine.

I have reset the BIOS, no joy.
Unfortunately I don't have logon password so I can't see if it gets to logon screen and stuff "behind the scenes", but will try and get it sometime.

I don't know what else could be wrong, as all the other parts did work, and the computer used to boot up.
Any ideas?

I found that my GF2 MX400 wouldnt work in my MSI 6712 because my Agp slot refuses to accept anything below 4x AGP. Does your internal speaker make any sound? It should warn you if anything is wrong. Have you tried your oither components in another moptherboard (Ram, Graphics, Processor)? Whenever my Radeon 9600 pro plays up like that a bios reset works. or reseating the card maybe?

There are 2 cards that won't work, so I don't think it's a card issue. I have reseated the Ti4400, but only just installed the GF2, and the heatsink was warm to touch, so both were recieving power (heatsink warm on GF2, fan spinning on Ti4400).
Both also support AGP 4x and I did reset BIOS, as I said 🙁
Might try swapping everything out and using a different mobo with the graphics card, but that'll have to wait until the weekend 🙁
