Really weird Nintendo patents filed

Patents don't imply that something is definitely in development. Probably just there to prevent other people making those items.

And considering the immensely retarded wii addons we've seen, it makes at least some sense to patent those that are just borderline stupid instead of outright retarded.

Despite how silly a lot of the Wii's products are, I can't help but be incredibly amazed from a business perspective. It takes one hell of a good mind to create something this profitable and so far off in left field compared to everything else in the industry.

So... are all these add-ons official Nintendo products or third-party? And I mean ALL, like the nun-chucks, the dagger, shotgun, etc. already in production. If so, milk it good baby, milk it dry...

Its a smart move. Atari did this in the 70s, they patented basically everything they could and made a fortune suing companies for copyright infringement. Probably what kept them around for so long. They even sued Sega wy back because of the joystick pinouts on the Genesis controllers.

LOL .

and smart too..just cover all possibilities. I do like that joystick and the steeringwheel thing w/ a base though. looks promising.

Nintendo claims that they file many patents a year. They have one where a Game Boy respond to where you hit it. Finally, I can get my aggressions out while PWning the n00bs. 😛
