So best buy has $250 in rebates for this machine. However, I have some questions:
1. I know there is a 800Mhz battery issue and there is a workaround. When it is on battery power, does it dynamically speed up to 1.8Ghz when I'm doing something cpu intensive like a Centrino machine?
2. The battery life is about 2.5~3 hours depending on use. I'm thinking about getting a HP Centrino laptop otherwise. The main difference about the machines is the screen resolution. The HP is 1680x1050 and the emachine is 1280x800. Will the resolution effect battery life, or just the screen size? I'm assuming since they are both LCDs, there are more physical pixels on the HP, so it will use more power. They are both 15.4".
I plan on using the laptop for using Visual Studio.net, word processing, surfing the web and maybe some light gaming.
