Really surprised that the major news sites don't...

Have a giant countdown clock on them to count down the time remaining on Saddam's 48 hour ultimatum.

Just seems like something you'd expect....<shrugs>

The problem is that there isn't a set time to count down to. Bush said Saddam and his sons have 48 hours to leave, and if they don't we will sometime in the future make the decision to attack. That sometime in the future part is just too fuzzy. Once 48 hours have passed, then what? Another counter until Bush makes that decision?

I don't either honestly. I think there was almost a week delay during the first Gulf War between the ultimatum deadline and the beginning of the military action.

I just anticipated someone to have a countdown clock for the ultimatum deadline...just seemed like something a news site like Fox News would have done.

seems kind of stupid to have one, when saddam has already answered saying he's not leaving doesn't it?

Well, also the time given for a possible coup to oust Saddam and his son.

MSNBC has been doing it on a on and off basis.

That would explain why I haven't seen it there. Just went there again and it is still not there.
