No, it's not in the faq, so don't point me there. I actually did this a long time ago, following a step by step guide that has probably been thrown away. So, how do i effectively format and reinstall windows without getting a headache?
If you're using Win9x, then boot into DOS from a bootdisk and type format c:. Then run the setup.exe file from the CD.
For Win2k or WinXP, go into your BIOS and set your computer to boot from a CD-ROM drive. The setup program will prompt you to partition and format before you start the OS install.
