My old system was in a small case with ALOT of fans. It had the whole vaccum cleaner sountrack going on. Still didn't stay all that cool inside. I decided to try minimal fans in the tallest case I could get. After snooping around Newegg I went with this behemoth:

26.4" tall. I built it up with a retail FX-53 on the nForce 3 Ultra Gigabyte board, BFG 6800 Ultra, and an Antec True Control 550w power supply. Other than the fans included on those parts I didn't put any extra fans in the case. Its relatively quiet. Even with the power supply fan slowed all the way down I still got a pretty decent overclock out of it. The top third of the case stays pretty warm all the time but there's nothing that critical up there. Alot of the heat escapes unaided thru the fan hole above the power supply and the vent on the Antec PS control panel at the top of the case.

Just a really simple idea that people sometimes overlook as an option. ;)
