Really Simple E2180 OS Question

Will a Windows XP SP1 Retail Upgrade disk install on a new E2180 Dual Core system?

Should have no problem installing. Just make sure you upgrade to SP2 as soon as possible, but i've installed it with no issues on dual-core systems, then did the SP2 upgrade after.

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup: That is excellent news. I always go straight to windows update after installing and let it do all of its updates (along with innumerable reboots ) before installing drivers and other software.

You use your retail CD and the SP2 download from microsoft to slipstream it to one new CD thta would install WinXP SP@ in one step.

yeah, I had hell installing win xp on an older system that i converted to a fileserver b/c it had a hd that was over 127gb. I should have just slipstreamed sp2 as recommended (by jackmds, in fact).
