Really shy guy in my class

It's just really weird. He doesn't say anything in class and doesn't talk a lot even with regular people. Hence, he doesn't have many friends (as far as I can tell). I tried talking to him a few times, but it's so hard to start a conversation with him, since I'm usually doing most of the talking and he's just like "yeah" or some 3 word response. I kinda feel sorry for him. I guess that's part of his personality? From what I can remember, in general one's personality changes slightly over the course of a lifetime. I don't know, I guess it'd just suck to be him 🙁 :frown:

I'm an introvert as well ever since I was born, I was never outgoing or a chatterbox

I had a kid like that in my class. I tried to be nice to him and talk. Turned out he had OCD, especially about his chemistry labs. Not his fault, but I didn't appreciate the weekly call at 3am sunday night/monday morning for help on the lab. I had to tell him off finally, because asking him not to call did nothing and he wouldn't let me hang up until he was satisfied (like a telemarketer). It wasn't an easy thing to do, I still feel bad for him, but I honestly don't think I can help.
 
See the thing, I'm not sure if he likes being alone/introverted. That's why I feel sorry for him. It'd be really hard to change that, don't you think? That's why I tried being friendly to him. BTW, I am a guy.
 
I thought my "yeah"'s and three (3) word responses, while rolling my eyes, would've given you a hint. For the last time, LEAVE ME ALONE!
 
He's afriad of people. You need to prove you are no danger to him and then maybe he'll open his pathetic life up to you and show you his collection of D&D miniatures.

No one likes being alone all the time and that's a fact but how would you know if he doesn't like being introverted? I consider myself an introvert as well and I don't want to be the life of the party, be a chatterbox, or have 20 friends calling me everyday. Matter of fact, I want to be left alone during the weekdays, don't call me, don't invite me to do shit, etc.. however, on the weekends, I wanna chill with people sometimes.. but I don't mind being alone on the weekends either
