hey guys
i recently decided that Sli is not the road i'm going to take.
in my sig you'll see a 500w power supply from enhance, which looks awesome
but the seasonic s12s look even better. Should a 400w s12 replace the one i'm looking at?
I've heard the s12s run very quiet.

the seasonic s12 is by far my fav psu right now read the reviews quiet and efficent basically it's what I plan to use in my next system though I want the 500W that 400W should be fine in your rig a decent 350W could run most everyones system in these forums.

well that reveiw makes it seem like a worse power supply than i've heard, and xoxide gives you sleaved cable, i don't know where jhonnyguru got that one...

i received this information from the support/sales staff at case-mod.com because i too was confused about the sleeved cables on the seasonic (note that this message pertains to the s12 600w)

There are 3 total revisions in the history of the 600W S12.

April 2005: first revision - now obsolete and should not be found anywhere
on the market
July 2005: 2nd revision - used newer capacitors and quieter fan. May still
be found online.
May 2006: 3rd revision - still has new capacitors and quieter fan. Now has
ATI crossfire and SLI approval. All cables are now sleeved. The PSU is now
RoHS compliant.

i know you are looking at the 430w version, but keep in mind that seasonic has most likely revised this model over time, too... the review posted by pkme2 is from july 21, 2005 which is long ago enough to assume a revision or two has been made to this psu

check with seasonic directly or you may have more luck with an online retailer... the folks at www.case-mod.com responded in less than 24 hours with very detailed information so i'd recommend checking with them

maybe i should just stick with the enhance 5150g, that ocz is friggin expensive. Out of my budget range. I wanna stay ~$70.
