really quick powerpoint presentation help

i'm helping my dad with his presentation and he wants each bullet to come in one at a time. I was able to set that up for him: slide show > animation schemes > appear

but if he wants to quickly switch back to the previous slide or go on to the next one, he has to click thru each bullet. Is there a shortcut to go to the previous slide without clicking thru each bullet? Thanks
