i think cingular has the worse customer service ever.

for some reason, they cancelled my service today.... TWICE! and when i asked why that happened, they said they don't know.

i remember a month ago i called in to ask how much discounts will i get for being a federal government employee, and here is how the conversation went:

me: hi, how much discount can i get for being a federal governemnt employee?
customer service: hold on sir, let me check...
(2 minutes later)
cs: sir, i am sorry, i am not sure how much you would get.
me: oh, could you transfer me to someone that would know?
cs: no, sorry.
me: what?
cs: this is my second week here, i am sorry...
me: can you transfer me to another representative please?
cs: sorry, there isn't anyone i could transfer you to...
me: can i speak to your supervisor?
cs: sorry, he is not here right now...
me: WTFBBQ
me: what is your name?
cs: _____ _____
me: BYE!

*update*
i just found out they lied to me. also, they said they were going to reinstate me service after my second call yesterday... but nope, i still dont have service this morning. i had to call again. WTF are they doing over there.

True. You gotta find the one that sucks less than the others

I walked into a Verizon store here in Sarasota 3-4 days ago to check out the 6700.

I am not kidding, there were AT LEAST 80 people jammed in there. It was insane. Its always the same at my mom's verizon on the east coast.

I used to be a Primeco/Verizon customer, but their service in Gainesville used to be HORRENDOUS.

Verizon stores tend to be somewhat busy in my area too, but never too bad. They did screw up with the phone numbers when my brother upgraded his phone (while he was away in college), but Verizon CS was pretty good and solved the problem after a quick call to them.

On the plus side I called my phone company the other day to cancel call waiting... and ended up with a $15/month discount for no good reason because I bitched about the 'system access fee'.

I have a contract through the Business division. It's always fun asking questions about my contract, I have to get transferred about 50x.

For example, I am eligible for an upgraded phone now because my 1yr contract is up, but, in order to get internet pricing I have to order online via the internet. Except that when I tried to do that it didn't work, stating that my 'name' was not in the system. I called up to get that fixed so I can order an upgraded phone but I had to go through about 5 different groups before I finally found out that I'm not eligible to use the regular online ordering system because my account is tied to my employer. I'm ok with the answer, but, seriously, had to go through 5 different groups.

And,btw, had same issues with Sprint when I used them in the past.

Still haven't upgraded my phone, holding out a bit longer.

I have Cingular

customer service sucks

You get what you pay for

Verizon > All

More expensive, but great company.

I've had verizon, tmobile, and sprint in the past 6 years... I've had cingular for the past 13 months and it has been by far the best. I've only dealt with support twice. Once was an insurance thing, and one was a billing issue, and both were fixed fast. BTW, this is in upstate new york.
