Really old card collection

ok so i have 457 basketball cards in an album that i just pulled out of the closet for the first time in like 8 years. i want to sell them all off, and i'm trying to figure out the best way to do it. i really don't know, but i think there is some pretty valuble stuff in there...lots of rookie of the year and MVP cards, all Topps, Fleer or Hoops. mabye a few others.
Should i just try and do it on Ebay? is there a site where i can get like an apprasial(sp) or something on them?
 
you'll get close to minimum value if you don't get them graded. if you have any rookie michael jordan cards, get it graded and say hello to lots of money!

years are 1991 through about 98. i have a few that were created between those dates but are for players in like the 60's and 70's.

erm...well define really old...they are pretty old for me, born in '88...so no, none of them are older than me. alright so mabye they arn't "really" old, but want to sell them nonetheless

Alright so i need to take them to a card shop to get them, or at least the valuble ones, graded? then i suppose i can either sell them to the shop if they want any or on Ebay.
 
I'd go pick up a Beckett magazine at your nearest card store and start checking out the prices, putting them aside. Then listing them on eBay.

You aren't going to get any real money for them.

Keep them for another 25 years, and maybe.

Keep them.
 
ummm...cards from the early 90's will most likely be worth very little. That was back during the days where companies printed thousands and thousands of cards. Unless you have some special cards like an A-Rod or Kobe rookie or even some autograph cards.

Like Xiety said, I'd recommend grading some of your higher value cards a graded 10 card of the right guy could get you a couple hundered dollars alone.
 
no..you have to sign up for a service like Beckett's grading service or PSA where you send it in to them via mail. It's actually quite expensive to grade them and can be a gamble since grading a card may not even add enough value to compensate for the grading costs.

I don't know. I'm stuck with thousands of them from the late 70's through the mid 90's. Nobody wants them, unless I'm giving them away. Oh well, I'll save them, and my great grandkids can take them to the Antiques Roadshow. 🙂

Save them! I'm sure the ones from the 70s are worth something more than normal....

You have 457 1991-1998 basketball cards and you want to make some money? Hahahahahahaha.
Not to mention that they're Topps, Fleer, and Hoops. Alright, I hate to be the one to bust your bubble but your not going to make sh*t. Any major rookie cards from the years 1991-1998 in those particular sets are just crap. Lets see, you may have a Shaq RC, maybe a kobe RC, maybe Iverson...etc etc. The topps, hoops, and fleer sets are very cheap sets and I doubt they have any cards in those sets over $10. (If the kobe rc is worth that much) So hold onto your cards and save them for your children.
