Found another gem from forgotten weapons. I t about the Mars Automatic Pistols designed by a really oddball person firing powerful cartridges that wasn't matched until the the Wildey and Automag came along. and this was in the late 19th Century!
What killed this design off was the gun was very complex and too much recoil, which both Webly and the British Military had informed the designer about but he was too stubborn to listen. Had a somewhat wide cartridge selection, including a .45 long that had the same ballistics as the .45 Win Mag.

Hey @gill77 what do you think of this?

The channel seems to be extremely well done and informative. This seems to be one of those strange firearms that never went anywhere.

My interest lies more in the vanilla, practical and maybe tweaks to these as time goes on.

I'm sure it is interesting to some, just not my thing.

Well I more curious how the designer managed to come up with the .45 Win Mag some ~70 some years before Winchester did and why he made one so powerful well ahead of its time.
