OK, long and short of it is..im in the market for a new game... i havent played one much since NFS: Carbon, Crysis and Oblivion...Crysis was my last game finished actually.

I love FPS and racing games, but like adventure games like Oblivion too..

Any recommendations?

Thanks!!!

Good ideas guys thanks...

Zerocool.. yes..well kind of..Ive done all the Half Lifes up to Episode 1 (waiting for Ep 2)...Crysis warhead sounds promising..so does bioshock. I looked at Stalker but the hype didnt live up to the game I think...so I think Bioshock, fallout or Crysis would do.. thanks!

Sorry to hear that you aren't going to try Bioshock. I've never played any of the prequels, but I picked up Bioshock from Steam on a promo for 9.99 and it has become one of my all-time favorites. Just a great story and some phenomenal gameplay.

Wow, ive heard its a lot like System shock too, but that didnt stop me from absolutely loving this game.

In my top favorites. Great story, gameplay, and it runs decent on hardware. Great value for what you get, with multiple endings.

TRY BIOSHOCK!

Haha... ok, ok ill keep playing it..I guess I was too busy getting marreid and moving to have time to play but now thigns are settled down and I need a game. So:

Bioshock: Yeah I played SS2 a lot also but found it to be boring after awhile... too much linear storyline with the person bassically telling you where to go.

Mass effect: I seriously wanted to play this game, but saw video reviews from xplay and otherws that said the combat was too chunky even though the story line was good..it looked good though.

HL2: After EP1 I was waiting for EP2 and saw the orange box ads for xboxz and thought it 3was just CS, HL and hL2....didnt know the pc version had EP2...ill get that..

Where the hell did you hear that?

It has over a 9/10 on Gamerankings.
That means nothing. Doom 3 got a 97% from PCGamer.
Doom 3 sucks ass.

Mass Effect can be good if its your thing.
It feels an aweful lot like Knights of the Old Republic, but the combat & equipment is much more simplified. The story is awesome but there are some sections of the game that feel a bit tedious and arent entertaining. The vehicle sections are especially annoying.

The visuals look good if you have the horsepower, but some of the effects (like Film) can be irritating for some folks.

Even though it was clearly dumbed down for the console crowd, its still a darn fun game. But you arent likely to repeat it, even with those stupid unlockable Achievements in play. The optional quests are bland & uninspired, even on your first playthrough you wont like them. We've certainly come a long way from Bladurs Gate 2, where most of the game content was optional and very enjoyable.

Mass Effect is an "OH MY GOD!" type experience the first time you play it. That alone is worth 50 bucks.
