REALLY huge FaD job

One of my PCs started a new job today on target j14-1b70 and it looks to be a monster. it has been running for just under 8 hours so far (on a CPU rated at 140) and FADSpy is saying that the job will finish at about 10:30 AM on July 16th! That's a total point estimate of nearly 63,500!! :Q

Has anyone else picked up a job for this target today? And if so, is yours showing a similar estimate?

80 minutes later.... 😉

FADSpy now says that this job should be done at 6:45 AM on July 15 with a total point estimate of 64206 (CPU rating is currently reading at 151 instead of the 140 it showed earlier, but I was using the system just before it was 140, and this computer's average over two weeks is 147). I know that FADSpy is only guessing based on how long the system has taken to do what it has completed so far and the rating of the CPU, but still, unless the last 92% of the job (it's at 8% complete after 10 hours of work) go much faster than the beginning of the job, this could be a really ridiculous point score. 🙂

I'm not sure which project. Something in our network global policy won't let the newer versions of FADSpy run on my computer, and the version that does work, doesn't have a working "project" column. I've looked at the server.dat, <PC>.tlg, and <job>.dat files and as far as I can tell, they don't say what the name of the project is for the job...

On a side note, it does look like the remainder of the job will run faster than the first 10% did. It's up to 13 hours processing time now, and is at 19% completion with an estimated finish date down to July 5th at 3:50 PM and a total estimated score of 28,950 points.

Even though it would take forever to finish, I was REALLY looking forward to actually seeing a 60K+ score on a job! 🙁

I probably won't bother updating this again, but I had to post to say that FADSpy was just teasing me. 🙁

The job is up to 16 hours processing time now and is showing a reasonable (and boring) estimated completion of June 30 and 4:50 PM with a wimpy (and boring 😉) total score of 11,200.

I guess the client just had a really hard time with the first 1000 molecules or something, but it sure looked neat for a little while there... 🙂
