Ecco for more comfort but a little less appearance.
This may not work for you, and I put this out as the caveat, but Allen Edmonds if a firm but well made shoe is comfortable to you. For me, too soft a shoe didn't work, so I went with AE in a couple of their more classic styles (Park Avenue is a good shoe to start with if you're in a conservative profession or not). Turns out, I'm more comfortable all day in these than any other shoe.
Second-best was Kenneth Cole Silver Technology. It's a marketing term for their fancy insole. It's soft and comfortable, but soft means it has too much lateral movement in that case.
I dunno, maybe I'm an asshole, but I like my shoe to fit like a skate. Basically so that the shoe conforms to your foot with no slack.
