Can anyone recommend a good, large CRT that I can get on ebay perhaps? I missed out on a really good deal a few days ago and am looking for more options. Thanks.

There have been about eight zillion threads on this topic... please search.

The high-end NECs using AGs seem to be very frequently recommended, but they are near-impossible to find now except as refurbs.

Sony Trinitrons are very nice also-I have a 6+ year old Dell rebranded model and it works like it's new

Hi Justin(Dorkenstein)

Just sent you a PM also. I have a Mitsubishi Diamondpro 2070b 22" CRT I stopped using about a month ago.

give me a shout if you are interested. It is in perfect working order(about 1.5 years old and used 4-5 hours daily).

since you are a AnandTech member, i will let it go for a great price.

Get one of the used Sony or NEC/Mitsubishi CRTs with Trinitron/Diamondtron tubes. Like the monitor offered above, it's one of the best. Or the FW900 widescreen.

The only new large CRT that got a good review is the ViewSonic P227fB, sold as G225fB in the US. I'm not sure that they are exactly the same though. Specs look the same but opinions do not. It's a shadow mask monitor, not -tron/aperture grille but it has pretty good colors and decent brightness. Sharp at high resolutions, too. Look here:
