REALLY FAST mobo installation Q!

Hey, i have the antec p160 and the damn installation kit came with like, 5 different kind of screws. i put the stand offs in, and set the mobo on it, and it says to screw the phillips head screw in. every damned screw is a phillips head.

Which should i use? The one i currently have in is a broader top, a part with no circles (solid) thena little bit with circles that screws in. Are these right?

To simplify things, there are fine thread and course thread screws. I usually screw one into the standoffs before I install them and check out which is the right one. The fine thread screws will thread into the course holes but won't tighten up.

Hope this helps.

Theyre all fine thread lol. 🙁 Any pictures? Because the screw is the way i stated, its like a little plate (from top to bottom) then a space with no threadig, and the rest is screwed in. The smallest ones didnt screw in right, and the medium ones got stuck when i tried to unscrew them.

The manufacturer of the screw can put many variations of heads on them. Hex, combo (phillips & straight), phillips, etc.

There are two different diameters. The larger are course. The smaller are fine. One of them has got to screw into the standoff.

The course are used for Hard Drives and the case itself. The fine are used for Optical and Floppy drives. Unfortunately, the standoffs can use either. As I said, the head on them varies. No way to tell which are right from the head on them. At least not from where I am. Now, if you could post a pic........

This is all I can offer.

OK, i see the pic. Those are both course. The one on the right is special to hold Hard Drives in the rubber mounting grommets.

So your using the screws that came with the case?

What about the screws that came with the mobo, thats what I use. AFAIK, all the brass standoffs are the same. So use the old mobo screws.

coarse, not "course". You play golf on a "course". 😛

You know every time I typed that it didn't look right. I used to be a really great speller. Thanks for correcting me. Spelling errors bug the heck out of me. Obviously they do you too. 🙂
