I already posted a message about this however i have yet to get any response and i REALLY REALLY need the help because my computer is wacked!!! I have an A7V and a T-Bird 1 gig that is not overclocked. I use a Golden Orb fan to cool it running at approx 5600 rpm. My friends get on average CPU temps of 120 F... i get anywhere from 140 F to 170 F (at which point it locks up). Will getting extra case fans solve this problem?! Running the comp without the cover on it does not seem to make any different which is why i dont think case fans will solve the problem. Im really going crazy here cause my baby keeps messing up and i cant seem to help it. PLEASE give me ANY advice that may solve my problem.

THANX

Well I helped a few of my friends set up Tbird systems with Asus A7V mobos and sure enough their speeds are high up there.. running about 65 C or about 165 F. And they all have 850 and 900 Tbirds though. They all used a basic H/S combo.. nothing special. Anyhow.. they temp sensor may be reading a higher temp then what is accurate. I just found that over time the temp goes lower... maybe a work in phase for the CPU but not sure. It does not matter how many fans we put in there.. the temp would barely drop. Not until I put a second fan blowing right on the CPU from the side did the temp go down somewhat .. but still not anywhere close to the temp of a P3. The thing is that the stupid H/S combo we used was not seated properly on the CPU and as a result we almost fried that chip. AMD is saying that 5 seconds without proper cooling can fry your CPU so make sure that the Goldenorb is seated dang on that baby with no spaces whatsoever! I would also check to see if your power supply is giving a clean source. You would not believe the problems that a bad power supply can do to your motherboard and CPU. Hope that was helpfull.

My advice is to ditch the Orb, and get an Alpha 6035 or an FOP 32. My setup idles in the low 30's Cel., and has never gotten up past 40 Cel. since I installed the Alpha. Good case cooling (Intake/rear exhaust or blowhole would not hurt either.
