Soyo KT400 Ultra Platinum Mobo
AMD 2100XP
Vantec VA4-C7040 HSF
FIC Radeon 9700Pro
Corsair Memory XMS 512MB PC3200
Western Digital 80GB HD (Special Edition)
Lite On 52x24x52x CDRW
Raidmax 400w Silver Aluminum PSU
Kingwin 5 fan case

Running w/ cat3.1 drivers (3.2's are said to lower marks even lower; I would flip if 3dmark came up with a sub 10k score...)

My cpu is running at 53` Celcius on die @ 100% load. I've tried every possible installation to fix this (different drivers, dx after/before vc drivers, dx 9.0 and 8.1, etc.) Please give me something to go on. I have a few more days to mess around with this then it's back to 15 hour days of school/work.

BTW, I changed the cpu from a 1700Xp to a 2100XP (OC'ed to 2.2) and my score went down from 11500 to the mentioned 10500.

Go into your display properties and set D3D settings to performance using the sliders, make sure that AF and AA are set to application preference and then rerun the bench.

Even your score of 11500 is pretty poor, my old GF4 Ti4200 was getting more than that.

You need to put more juice into your processor. A 3.06 P4 will manage aroun 15000 3dmarks thanks to high clock speed and high FSB. But a 266Mhz FSB even at 2.2 Ghz may still not be enough power to get those high scores...

There's nothing wrong with his processor. Those scores are abnormally low with a CPU/video card combo like that. Something is definitely holding him back and it's probably not a driver issue. The fact that his score seemed to decrease with the higher clock speed tells me that some type of CPU throttling is enabled.
