Thanks OP, perfect for what I'm looking for. (living in the boonies means shipping's a PITA)

Mine arrived today with the front busted already. Not worth returning as shipping is more than it's worth. Kind of a shame as the case looks good for less than $15 shipped. (alienware-like but cheaper plastic)

Still a good deal, I think they're still at the same price shipped.

One compliment and one minor crap. I've ordered the cheapos from Ebuyer and had a really great experience. However, and this might be sacrilige, the deals on the Chiefteks at *shudder* Tigerdirect are really good. I really love those cases and ordered 3 more in the last week. However, since they don't come with a PS, and some people are getting shipping that costs more than that case, you might be better looking for an alternative like this.
Another thing to keep in mind, the lousy PS that comes with the cheap cases wouldn't power my via KT333 mobo combo from Fry's. (It was rated at 400W, and I replaced it with an old Compaq 300W stripped from a Compaq P2 and it worked fine!)

I don't mean to crap. Nice post OP.

I got one of these cases and liked it so much I bought another, can't beat 13 dollars including shipping! They both came fast and in perfect condition. The chieftec cases were 43 dollars including shipping for me, and since a case doesn't do anything but look pretty, these are just fine. These will take a little modding to get 4 fans in like the chieftecs though, I have 2 of those and they are better but these are great for the price.

The first link had 100+ left when I posted today in the afternoon. Did they suddenly realize they were losing money on most of the cases? :) (too bad, I was about to order 2-3 more as there's no where to get cases locally and shiipping kills most deals like the tigerdirect one)

Theses cases seem perfect for a cheap new Sempron machine for my folks. Can anybody offer an opinion on whether I should get one with a PSU or scavenge the one from their little old Dell celeron 400? I'm not sure how to determine even what the watts is on it from the sticker.

I'll lend my "cheap-ass" complements to these cases. These cheap cases have been around for a long time at ebuyer. I ordered two last year when they came with a 300W PSU for $18-20. I dont know why they are selling them sans PSU now other than to make some money.

As for quality they are fairly flimsy thin material, but are incredibly lightweight for non-alu cases. They are pretty nice for modding as the thin material is easy to cut. Watch out for dents tho as they dent pretty easily. I rested my foot ontop of one as it was under my desk and ended up with a nice heel dent in the top of it.

But for $14 and free shipping, you cant beat it. The inside of the ones I purchased a year ago were almost a mirror finish which actually looks very nice with the windows I put in them.

Here are some pictures of my wife's computer before and after mod using a cheap $18 ebuyer case that included a 300W PSU:

EDIT: Oh and I wanted to add that ebuyer was great with getting my order shipped to me very quickly. Since then I have also bought the Logitec Z640 speakers from them and they arrived just fine as well.

That's good to hear. I ordered five of them, too, and was beginning to worry when Brule said his case was broken. At this price, one has to wonder if Ebuyer is trying to get rid of a bunch of cases that were in a truck when it jack-knifed off an overpass or something.

That "style" on your mod made me think of the old barbie and hotwheels pc's at first. Did you paint the monitor too?

Mine (silver alienware look alike, looks like the one (pre)modded one earlier in this thread) has grills for 2 80mms in the back and 4 80mm's in front of the hard drive bays. The plastic front cracking sucks, but isn't that noticable after a little care. Should be easy to put a blowhole in as the material is rather thin.

Shinare - nice mod. I'm drawing up something and it's good to know someone else has had success with that case before I start breaking things. ;)

public service announcement: as we all know, these cheap @xx cases are SHARP. I use these regularly for builds & finally cut the crap out of my finger on one last week.
