really annoying program sharing problem

Whenever I try to run programs over my network from WindowsXP machines off of a WindowsME machine I almost always recieve "this program has encountered an problem and must close, we are sorry for then inconvienence". Why?
 
Did you map a network drive to the share you're using on the WinME machine? Many network applications require a network drive to function correctly, plus many applications simply cannot be run over the network.
 
Thanks for the suggestion, however that did not work either. It is unpredictable what programs will work and what programs wont, for example, 3dMark2000 WILL work while 3dMark2001 will NOT work. 😕
