Realized yesterday that ordering checks was stupid

I've been with the same bank for 8 years. I think I'm on check 200 from the free box they gave me when I opened the account.


I remember buying furniture 30+ years ago and the place wouldn't accept a check because it had a number of less than 300. Even at the time I thought that was stupid. You can buy checks starting at any number you want.

I'm still on my first book of checks from like 7 or 8 years ago. The oil delivery guy didn't want to take my check because it started from the 100s. Like I couldn't of ripped a check from the end of the book... Not like I would cheat them, they already knew where I lived..
