Realistically: What speed AMD?

I have a Asus V7700 GeForce2 w 32 megs DDR. I will be upgrading soon, but want to know should I get a Duron or Tbird and at what speed? What good is a 1.2 gig Tbird if a 800 Duron maxes out my system? Should I get a Duron (oc'd, of course 😀) now and upgrade to a TBird later? This will be my last upgrade for a while (except maybe the cpu.) I expect I'll be PM'ing Compuwiz1 soon.

Tbird 850 is a good, inexpensive upgrade right now. Just $100. Last upgrade? LOL Yeah, right. Those two words don't even belong together.
 
depending on your cash situation, duron is fine, a 700 is around 60 bucks and you can bump that sucker to 950, otherwise I agree about the 850 tbird..

what does last upgrade mean? I tried to look that up in a dictionary...I never heard of that 😕
