Real Time Video Streaming Question...

I have a friend who asked me if I could do a custom setup for him. He has four restaurants and wants to observe them from his computer via real time video streaming. How would I go about this? I have an idea of putting in a generic closed circuit TV camera, and somehow hooking it into a video card thats able to transfer the stream online via the web to his computer at home....

Anyone have ideas?
