Does anyone know how these real time pricing engines gather their information? Is it something similar to RSS feeds? Can anyone tap into it or do you have to use some service that provides access?

Is it some universal site that houses all the information? Cnet, pricegrabber, anandtech price search, etc sites, are all using this one database? Or do each of these sites create their own databases and have software to gather the information?
