Thanks Bryan, Have it up and running. tjmax 5c lower than coretemp, and temps @ load 5c lower than coretemp. So, the distance from temps @ load to tjmax is relatively the same.

Yeah, too bad there's not a software program in existence that actually reports accurate temps. The best one can hope for is to use the two or three best programs and take an average. Or, delve into the arcana of power measurements and then STILL not necessarily get the whole story.

I figure, so long as smoke doesn't come out of the case or a thermonuclear mushroom cloud doesn't envelop my desk, it's all good.

again, keep in mind that temp doesn't matter at all. distance to tjmax is the important thing, and latest versions of coretemp, realtemp, AND speedfan have the same number (at least on my 45nm quads they do). They all get their readings from the same place, so it's a good thing, too...;)

Yes please keep those thermonucores under control!

Last thing we need is a bunch of desktops going critical.

hmmm, i got the beta he released in his forums that enabled the temp display in th task bar, and every time i turned that on, all i got was the icon for getright. really strange...like it was the normal icon, and then it changed into the getright one when i set it to display my temps.
