Real quick X-windows question

Hypothetical: I'm sitting at Sam, a slowish pc that seems strained running X at all. I want to run StarOffice (or some other resource-intensive program) on Frodo (which lives in the server room) and have the program display itself on my screen.

How do I do it? Can I do this is Frodo isn't running X?

Found the answer myself, here. Still don't know if the remote system needs to be running X (or have X installed) or not though.

i believe you would have to run an X server on frodo, and then at a prompt, run the program, telling it what display to run on, giving it the remote desktop display #.

i think both need X installed
