real player 8 basic..............HELP!!!!!

Hi, I just download this real player 8 basic tonite, I installed it then I play some audio streams off the web....DAMN! this stupid thing just crashed! at first, I thought it was the file collapse of GoZilla and real player, so I removed Gozilla, yet, the problem is still there. So I took a look at the detail, I saw somewhere in the line says "EAX=!^$$%$#$#*&" ..........GOD!! Isn't this my sound card feature????? WTF!!! I thought I've solve my sound card problem already!!! Does this happen to you guys? why wouldn't window media player play audio streams off the web? (this could save the hustle to download "real" since window media player is already built in) And if possible, is there any other reliable substitute program for real player?

There is UltraPlayer, but it doesn't (to my knowledge) handle the embedded real streams. I also handles Windows Media type files.

actually, wmp does play streaming audio ... it just plays different type of streaming radio (*.asx vs *.ra)

i've never had any prob with SBLive + real8 ... did you get the basic basic real player, or the loaded basic real player (with jukebox and all the other junks in it)?

reinstall rp8 and see if it's still there.... if you get the &quot;loaded&quot; version, go get the one that's 4MB (without jukebox and stuffs) and put that in place....

also you may want to check your rp8 ... go to view -> preferences -> performance -> and tweak some settings and see if they can fix some problems (may have to downgrade the sound quality, though....)

I reinstalled the sound card driver to the newest version available in their website(I dunno what my previous version was, it might as well be the newest version, but only now I am sure I have the newest version installed)And then, I installed real player G2 off a CD, and everything seems to be working fine now. You know what? I think it was the crappy features in SB live!value that caused the problem. I used to have Audio HQ, EAX and all other fancy stuffs installed, now I only have driver and oozic player installed (by the way, is oozic player really important? if not, I would like to uninstall it as well) and everything seems to be cool now🙂

Oh yeah, I downloaded the &quot;loaded&quot; version of basic real player 8, it sucks!!! I love the G2 now, since it works for me 🙂
off the topic, in the process, I also reinstall Nvidia display driver as well, I went from 6.34 to 12.41. Is this a good move? what's the best driver version you guys have experienced so far?
