a) ANYONE can go into a costume store and get such a costume, mask etc....let alone what some movie special effects guys are capable of doing.

b) Zeta Reticuli is a STAR

As someone with a "little" knowledge of astronomy i always cringe if i hear idiots claiming about aliens coming from a star...or even better, use a whole constellation as their "origin". ("from Orion"....."from the constellation of Lyra" etc...)

Proves that such idiots dont even have kindergarten basic understanding which you could otherwise learn by reading an astronomy book for kids.

If i personally would want to make an elaborate hoax, i would AT LEAST produce some "half credible" story...and not some story which can already be debunked by reading the headline alone.

likely cause the chances of a life supporting planet having the same gravity, oxygen ratios...etc on top of them not being any lower on the food chain or any other environmental dangers preventing them from developing and evolving...are pretty slim really.
