Hi,

First time here and first time rollerblading.. I play a lot of road hockey on foot but times have changed and it seems like everyone's on blades these days.... I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right forums since a lot of you are recreational and freestyle bladers, so Im hoping someone can help me .. cause I have no knowledge of rollerblading technology (wheels, bearing, etc.)..all I know is Mission blades is the best for roller hockey (at least that's what people say).

Which one's the best for roller hockey?

I just bought the D4C but if the A50s are better, I will go refund. I know there's lots of other models out there (probably better ones) but I'm not in the market to spend hundreds yet as I'm only a beginner.

Thanks 🙂

THey don't look all that different. ABEC5s will make the first set glide easier and you can go farther with less pushing, but for hockey, it's more about starting, stopping, turning, etc so that probably won't make all that much difference.

I'd start with a cheap set to try out and see what you like and don't and then go from there to get a better set once you figure out which features are the most important to you.

Definitely get yourself some good bearings ABEC5s or 7s. Also, consider your wheel diameter - for recreation you use much larger wheels than you'll use for hockey. I have a pair of K2 (their second to top model, I think) and they are great... really comfortable boots and superb chassis. Spend the extra for a solid alluminum chassis.
