Real life noise levels for the gtx 480

Well keep in mind that both guru3d and Wreckage are some of the biggest nvidia fanboys ever.

I never thought of Guru as being fanbois.
Been reading them for years.

And please keep that fanboi talk out of my thread and stick to comments on the topic.

Edit: on topic...

I watched the other video's (from some other site) and to be honest all the cards sounded real loud in those video's.

Stop the video at 30 seconds. The card is at 88c and climbing and the fan is at 80%,you can probably add 10 DBa when the fan goes to 100%

10 DBa going from 80% to 100%? I don't think so. If you look at the last 35 seconds of the video, it's still at 45 DBa and fluctuating up and down.
The 5870 is only 5 DBa's lower at most review sites in open cases.

My point is when in a closed case it's not nearly as loud as some of those others video's I watched. I'm not saying its not a loud card , just mabe not as loud as its been portrayed.

I put my DBa gun in my enclosed cup to my headphone and it went up 2 DBa?
You were right! 🙂 haha.

Really, I can't tell the difference.

and you still missed my point. 🙁

I know it's going to be quieter inside a case,it also might run hotter.I just wish he did the test at 100% so there would be no question about it.
